Taking into account the requirements of the external regulatory enactments, the general hygiene standards, the conformity of the final product and their relationship with the declared characteristics of the product, their hazard to human health with a view to protecting consumer health and ensuring a safe and harmless working environment shall be evaluated. As a result, a document FOR HYGIENE ASSESSMENT is issued.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    Documents to be submitted with the completed application shall:
    - the manufacturer's quality certificate of conformity;
    - Product safety data sheet;
    - product characteristics and instructions for use;
    - the quality certificate of the raw material;
    - testing results for imported products.

    If the application and the documents to be attached to it are submitted electronically, an e-service “Application for a Health Inspectorate authorisation, opinion or assessment” must be selected and performed on the www.latvija.lv portal.

  2. Receipt of services
    The service is received in accordance with the application of choice.
